BYLAWS
Article
I - Notices - Notices
shall be sent to every active member of all
meetings
of the Squadron at least ten days prior to thereto, or posted
on
the Club House bulletin board for the same period of time. Notices of all
Special Meetings shall state the purpose for which they are called.
Article
II - Order of Business - At
the regular meeting the following order of business should be observed:
1.
Roll Call
2.
Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting
3.
Reports of Officers
4.
Reports of Committees 5. Unfinished business 6. New business
7.
Election of Officers and Governors

Article
III - Burgee,
Flags, Night Signal
Section
1. The burgee of the squadron shall be a triangular pointed flag, the length to
be one and one-half times the hoist (as registered in Lloyds register of
American Yachts).
Section
2. The Commodore's Flag shall be blue, rectangular, with a fouled anchor in
white surrounded by thirteen white five-pointed stars.
Section
3. The Vice-Commodore's Flag shall be red, rectangular, with a fouled anchor in
white surrounded by thirteen white five-pointed stars.
Section
4. The Rear-Commodore's Flag shall be white, rectangular, with a fouled anchor
in red surrounded by thirteen five-pointed stars,
Section
5. The Fleet Captain's Flag shall be white, rectangular, with a blue fouled
anchor.
Section
6. The Race Committee's flag shall be rectangular with a red vertical anchor
supported by the two letters "RC" in white on a blue field.
Section
7. The distinguishing night signal of the Squadron shall be green-white-green to
be shown in succession by Coston light or other practical means displayed
vertically.
Article
IV - Uniforms,
cap devices and other insignia are to be or regulation pattern for Officers, Members
and Employees
Article
V - Yacht Register
Section
1. Those yachts owned wholly or in part by members of the squadron shall become
enrolled in the register upon filing with the secretary a description
thereof, stating the name, ownership, dimensions, rig, and, when known, the name
of the builder.
Section
2. A member using a yacht not enrolled in the register shall not fly the
Squadron Burgee unless the permission of the Commodore be obtained in writing.

Article
VI - Regattas - regattas
shall be held at the discretion of the Race Committee and under their
supervision and management.

VIl - Care of Yachts Members
shall be responsible for the proper mooring of their yachts, and neither the
Squadron or its employees Shall be responsible for any damage which may occur
from the slipping, breaking away front, or the dragging of their anchors, but in
the case of accident reasonable effort will be made to protect the Property of
members.
Article
VIII - Use of Piers and Floats - No
yacht shall be permitted at any time to lie at dock or float for a longer period
than is necessary for the Purpose of embarking or disembarking guests or for
taking on or off of stores or water. The Fleet Captain will issue to Yacht Squadron
members, and cause to be posted at the dock and on the bulletin board, special
rulings which may be needed; and these shall be strictly observed.
Article
IX - These
By-Laws or any of them may suspended at any meeting of the Board of Governors
but for such meeting only, by consent of four-fifths of the members present, and
may be amended or repealed by a vote of two-thirds of the members present at any
meeting, provided notice of the proposed amendment or repeal shall give notice
of any such proposed amendment or repeal in the notice of any meeting upon
written request of ten members in good standing.
